This young Petaluma family came to us wanting a total overhaul for their single story 1970’s ranch house . The clients requested an open concept layout and a large culinary kitchen with 48” range. We completely redefined the space by removing a large wall that divided the kitchen dining and living room. We moved the kitchen from a small corner on the East side of the structure to the location of the previous dining area along the opposite west facade. We reused an existing 8’ window from the former dining room and relocated it to showcase the stunning view looking out on the family’s property and the Petaluma hills beyond.
We selected materials that were practical and durable for a country house while still feeling elegant and timeless. We selected wire brushed oak flooring in a warm medium tone to stand up top the test of time with dog and kids. We designed an open and airy kitchen with a large island for the kids to do homework or the family to host guests. We customized the cabinets interiors to maximize storage and function and keep countertops free of clutter.

This couple came to us with the desire to create a spa-like experience in the comfort of their home. The existing bathroom felt cramped with restrictive flow and poorly used space. By claiming 18” from an adjacent bedroom, and opening up the space to the existing water closet and small adjacent linen closet, we were able to create a spacious footprint for the revamped bathroom. We decided to pump up the glam with custom walnut cabinets, full height glass tile backsplashes and dramatic lighting. With an established food truck brand in place they wanted to create a compelling, unique space as a intuitive extension of that brand. We worked closely with the client to develop both back and front of the house space plans, draft construction documents for city and health department submittals, and worked closely with subs throughout the process to see this project to fruition.
The design focused on natural, grounding materials paired with fun, unexpected statement elements. We partnered with local maker and miracle worker Joe Sooch to build the “Moto” light sculpture out of a modified fixie bicycle and custom designed box lettering. His creativity and multifaceted maker skills also brought our exterior sign concepts to life. TrueSpaces cabinetry was brought into the project to build the front cash wrap and stunning ribbed walnut cash wrap facade. Tranquillino Art Barrel creations artfully executed the walnut slab tables and wrap around bench.
Existing concrete floors once covered by green carpet and terra cotta tiles were brought back to life and a custom tropical wallpaper was selected for the North restaurant wall, as a playful nod to some of the more exotic ingredients of Fruity Moto’s menu. Local artist Joey Manfre worked closely with us to design an incredible custom wall mural at the entry honoring the farmers and purveyors that provide the ingredients for Fruity Moto’s menu.
This young family wanted a fresh face for their newly purchased home. We started in the heart of the home, the kitchen. The clients asked for increased storage, natural light and a fresh new look. We decided to keep the range top and sink locations to curb labor costs and invested the savings in a new 8’ wide window of the window behind the sink. We maxed out storage by installing new full-overlay, shaker-style cabinets along the length of the space with roll out interior pantry and lots of functional drawer lowers. We got creative to fit within budget by mixing stock cabinetry with custom additions to create a high-end look for a fraction of the cost. New porcelain countertops were installed to provide a stunning and durable surface for all the families activities.
